ASI Performance Standard Certification

ASI Performance Standard Certification

Aluminij Industries d.o.o. has achieved ASI Performance Standard Certification for the production of foundry aluminium alloys in the form of billets, blocks and small ingots at its casthouse in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company is the first in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the region to achieve ASI Certification.

“Aluminij emphasizes the interdependent environmental, social and economic aspects of sustainable development by putting sustainability at the core of its operation. Our ability to be a force for change relies on the divergent perspectives of diligent and committed employees from diverse backgrounds. Striving for excellence and integrity, Aluminij will retain its focus on sustainability, while successfully minimizing CO2 emissions in its operation. With the immense expertise of our team, Aluminij continues its ongoing objective to shape the industry toward a greener future.” – Mr. Amir Gross Kabiri, Chairman of M.T. Abraham Group

The independent, third-party audit of the Aluminij Industries d.o.o. facility was carried out by Bureau Veritas Certification.

Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer of the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative, congratulated Aluminij Industries for achieving the first Performance Standard Certification in Bosnia and Herzegovina at its foundry and casting operation in Mostar.

ASI works toward responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium following an entire value chain approach. They bring together producers, users and stakeholders in the aluminium value chain with a commitment to maximise the contribution of aluminium to a sustainable society.

ASI has been built on the foundation of work being carried out on aluminium sustainability and material stewardship by organisations, such as the International Aluminium Institute (IAI), European Aluminium Association (EAA) and the Aluminium Association (AA) for over 20 years.

The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain.
